Gender Minorities in Mathematics (GeMM) at the UMN is dedicated to addressing the issues traditionally faced by people of minority genders in mathematics. Being a minority of any kind (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, age, and health) can be challenging, and that fact, when added to the rigors, competitiveness, and impersonality of graduate education, is often a heavy burden to carry.

As an organization, GeMM is committed to improving the quality of all people's mathematical experience by breaking down these barriers and creating a more inclusive community.
